Is Oaxaca safe?

Oaxaca City is welcoming and walkable, especially in the central areas where we will be celebrating. As with any destination, please use normal awareness, keep an eye on your belongings, and take a taxi or DiDi at night if that feels more comfortable.

Are kids welcome?

We kindly ask that our wedding events be adults-only. For anyone interested in childcare during the wedding weekend, our local team can arrange trusted nannies who are preschool teachers in Oaxaca and have worked with families for years. They can come to your hotel or Airbnb.

The cost is 200 pesos per hour for however many hours you need, plus the nanny's taxi home (usually around 200 pesos). Citlali speaks English and coordinates with the nannies, who don't. She can arrange a Zoom introduction before your trip and help communicate schedules, bedtime, food, and other instructions during your stay.

Can I drink the tap water?

We recommend drinking sealed bottled water or water your hotel confirms has been purified for drinking. Avoid drinking untreated tap water, and use bottled or purified water to brush your teeth.

What is the weather like in February?

February is typically warm and sunny during the day, with cooler evenings. We recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap for later at night.

Do I need a rental car?

No. Our events are in the historic center, and the city is very walkable. Use an authorized taxi from the airport counter when you arrive, and ask your hotel to arrange a taxi for your return. Uber Taxi and DiDi Taxi offer rides around town; availability can vary.

Are there beaches nearby?

Many guests extend their trip to Puerto Escondido or Huatulco. Puerto Escondido is known for surf, while Huatulco has calm beaches and a resort-style feel.

What should I wear?

The welcome party is cocktail attire, and Saturday's ceremony and celebration are formal. Sunday is casual and pool-friendly.
